Cullercoats

Low 1007 centred to the north of Faeroes at first, quickly tracking east to northeast to pass through northern Scandinavia around noon Sunday and filling thereafter. Low 1009 centred across Germany at first gradually filling while drifting eastwards, losing its identity on Sunday. High 1026 centred to the west of Sole initially, declining southwestwards through Sunday, before building back northeast from Monday, becoming 1026 and centred west of Fitzroy by Tuesday evening. Low 1007 centred in southern Spain at first, gradually deepening while tracking northwest, to be 1001 across central Europe by Tuesday evening. New high 1035 becoming established in the Norwegian Sea Tuesday evening. Strong winds for a time in Viking, North Utsire and South Utsire late Sunday and for much of Monday, also possibly in the far north of Fair Isle later Tuesday. Otherwise no strong winds or gales expected through the rest of the period. Extensive fog possible in the west for Friday and much of Saturday

Niton

High 1026 centred to the west of Sole initially, declining southwestwards through Sunday, before building back northeast from Monday, becoming 1026 and centred west of Fitzroy by Tuesday evening. Low 1007 centred in southern Spain at first, gradually deepening while tracking northwest, to be 1001 across central Europe by Tuesday evening. New high 1035 becoming established in the Norwegian Sea Tuesday evening. Strong winds will develop for a time in Biscay late Monday and early Tuesday, also Fitzroy, Sole, Fastnet and Shannon from mid-day Tuesday. Otherwise no strong winds, gales or extensive fog expected through the period

Portpatrick

High 1026 centred to the west of Sole initially, declining southwestwards through Sunday, before building back northeast from Monday, becoming 1026 and centred west of Fitzroy by Tuesday evening. Low 1007 centred in southern Spain at first, gradually deepening while tracking northwest, to be 1001 across central Europe by Tuesday evening. New high 1035 becoming established in the Norwegian Sea Tuesday evening. Strong winds are possible at times Sunday and Monday in the northwest, most likely in Bailey, Faeroes and Southeast Iceland, also for a time later Tuesday, chiefly in Rockall, Fair Isle and Faeroes. Extensive fog possible in Fair Isle for Friday and Rockall on Saturday

The extended outlooks are issued once a day, at 2300 GMT and cover the next 3 to 5 days.

For the extended outlooks the waters surrounding the British Isles are divided into three areas: Cullercoats, Portpatrick and Niton. These three areas reflect the coverage areas of the UK's Navtex transmitters, which overlap in some areas.

The extended outlook forecast contains details of the likelihood of gales or storms, a general synopsis and a general forecast for the area of coverage of each Navtex transmitter.
